Event for World Environment Day – “I love, I care and I act: we plant, we learn, we play, we rejoice”

Seven years ago, the action “Let’s put water in the ditch in the Gardens of Pasha” was implemented and aimed to save the historic park, which is also the only green lung for the city.

Since then, the Municipality of Thessaloniki – Deputy Mayor for Environment – Directorate of Green and Environment Management, YMCA, the Hellenic Society of Environment and Culture – Thessaloniki Branch, the 7th Lyceum of Thessaloniki, the European Information Center Europe Direct Central Macedonia (hosted by Perrotis College – American School of Agriculture) and the Third Municipal Community ensure that the park is green, lit up and welcoming to the residents of the city.

So this year and on the occasion of World Environmental Day, they organized an event on Sunday, June 5 to spread the message of nature conservation.

For this reason,

bird feeders were made and hung on the trees and flowering and aromatic plants were given to passers-by.

Under the guidance of the headmaster Mavrokostidis Grigoris and the teachers Palioura Anna,  Athanaseli Dimitra, Kokavesis Fotis, Karavas Kostas & Efraimidou Katerina our students

planted trees,

placed QR IDs on the trees in the park and

painted the walls of the school that were smudged.

All participants aspire to raise awareness of the local community to love and care for the area and we agreed that we were inspired and enjoyed the beauty of this park that unites us every year on such a day.
