We are very happy to announce that our school was distinguished in the competition of the European Program “Her Sorries” which aims to highlight the life of Jewish women before, during and after the 2nd World War. https://www.her-stories.eu/en

The competition mobilized young citizens from Poland, Greece, Spain, Slovakia, the Czech Republic, Hungary and Germany. From Greece, the team of the 7th Lyceum of Thessaloniki participated by creating a Podcast entitled: Tribute to Sarah Yeshua-Forti and won the prize for best greek participation, which the students Antigone – Maria Ourmani, Asimina Papadaki and Theodora Papadimitriou will receive from Budapest on June 1, 2024. Many thanks to the History teacher Mrs. Velissari Theodora and the PhD in Gender Studies, Mr. Hambidis Theodoros, for their willingness to dedicate their precious free time to support the efforts of the students.
The topic of the students’ work concerns the life of Sarah Yeshua Forti, the niece of the Greek Army officer Mordokai Frizis. At the age of fourteen, Sarah was a Red Cross nurse and when the Germans occupied Chalkida, she supported the Greek National Resistance.
