Cultural capital of Europe

The Erasmus+ team of our school completed its participation in Kaunas, Lithuania. The 4th mobility of the ACTING NOW FOR THE FUTURE PROGRAM had the theme of NATURAL HERITAGE.

Dora, Spyros, Olivia, Viktoras and Rosa, 11th grade students of the 7th Lyceum of Thessaloniki, highlighted the above issue for our country focusing on the wider area of Thessaloniki. They impressed our participants for the holistic approach to the subject through reliable sources, for their skill in using the English language in their presentation and for the quality of the video they created. We are looking forward to them sharing with us their new work that will capture the experiences they gained both from their contact with the culture of Lithuania and from their acquaintance with their classmates from the other 4 countries.

In addition, after the end of the workshops the students wrote their Green Petition and invite all of us to sign it:

As part of the Erasmus+ project “Acting now for the future”, we have been reflecting on climate and sustainability issues since 2020 and decided, together with five partner secondary schools in the EU, to draft a petition based on several consensus recommendations from the scientific community.

“If humanity invests just an extra 2% of Global GDP in developing eco-friendly technologies and infrastructure every year, this would be enough to prevent catastrophic climate change, while also creating lots of new jobs and economic opportunities.”

Recognizing that we share common concerns about the future, we would be very grateful if you could collaborate with our project by signing the petition and spreading the word.
